If you’re a crafts junkie like myself, this is nirvana.
Paper Source is chock full of supplies for creating fantastic invitations, thank-you cards, holiday greetings, and so much more. The back room is wall-to-wall papers and envelopes, in all shapes and sizes. There’s even an “ideas book” to get your creative juices flowing.
The incredible selection of paper goods and DIY kits is just the tip of the iceberg. To help you create your masterpieces, there are a plethora of adhesives, cutting tools, rubber stamps, paper punches, and embellishments. With so many possibilities, you’ll wonder why you ever gave a store-bought card.
In addition to their own line of products, Paper Source offers cards (individual and boxed sets) from fabulous designers such as Letterspace and Snow & Graham. I love the wrapping papers from Bob’s Your Uncle and Neisha Crosland. (The latter are beautiful enough to be framed.) The store also stocks a small selection of humor and arts/crafts books, as well as knick-knacks that make great little gifts.
The staff is super-friendly and helpful (one of my favorites is Francois, a co-manager at the Fillmore location). Many of the people you see on the floor also moonlight as craft instructors. Paper Source’s workshop offerings include Polaroid transfers, screen printing, and calligraphy. (For a class schedule, check the Paper Source site or stop by a store for the latest catalog.)
Be forewarned: With so much cool stuff, you’ll probably end up spending more time and money here than you ever thought possible.
