Unfortunately for us east coast girls, Las Vegas is a significant flight and time change away. Luckily, Atlantic City, the next best thing, is close enough to satisfy anyone’s casino craving (at least until the next desert vacation is booked).
AC has always had that late night, borderline seedy reputation that seems to follow casinos, nevertheless a crazy, fun time is always guaranteed! Borgata, the area’s newest casino, has raised the bar on the level of class and sophistication. One can’t miss the bright neon purple structure in the skyline, beautiful both inside and out.
Their expansive lobby, filled with oversized candy-like, colorful glass sculptures, is just the beginning. With a large casino, along with numerous restaurants, bars, and dance club, they offer a varied selection to choose from. For those that are not avid gamblers, there is also plenty of shopping, and a spa for those much-needed pampering moments. High energy is in the air, everywhere from the casino floor to the nightlife.
What I like best about Borgata is how comfortable and understated the rooms are. Most casino decor is very flashy to say the least, but not here. Even though not much time is usually spent in the room, after a long night of partying, gambling and the sensory overload that casinos often bring, a relaxed place to lay ones head is vital. With clean lines, rooms are subdued and understated. The color palette is warm, full of textured caramels and greens. Beds are crisp with bright white linens and easy to fall into, unassuming elegance and comfort. All the details were thought of, even down to their catchy door tags, stating “tied up” or “tidy up”.
Next time you need a mini vacation, try your luck at the Borgata, odds for a memorable time are undeniably in your favor!
