The Living Room

I love a good martini. Even better if I get to enjoy it on a plushy chair. I can do both at The Living Room, a bar whose comfortable interior invites you to relax while indulging in a drinks from their specialty menu.
Though I’ve tried some of their specialty martinis, my favorite is the classic dry martini with gin and extra olives and its olive brine drenched cousin. Their original cocktails are unique and fun to sample, but I am more interested in the atmosphere.
Plushy couches and chairs are arranged in a living room setting complete with coffee table and lamps. Go early so you can reserve one of the living room sections for your group before it gets crowded. Otherwise, you can congregate in the bar area or one of the bar tables nearby. It gets busy and loud during the weekend so if you aren’t in the mood for that you are best paying a visit Sunday through Wednesday.
It’s proximity to the North End, Fanueil Hall, and the New England Aquariam make this an ideal spot to visit after a busy day of sightseeing, after a nice Italian meal at North End, or a day of shopping at Fanueil Hall.
Though I’ve never indulged at their raw bar, this is also something that may be worth trying. In that case, this is a good place to meat with friends for appetizers and pre-dinner cocktails.
