You know how sometimes you walk into a shop, drawn in by a window display or just curiosity, and you fall in love with the place? Maybe it’s the great selection of goods, or the careful way things are arranged, or the satisfying feeling you get when you know that you’ve discovered a gem. This shop, owned by a local designer, has that kind of charm.
They carry Blue Cult jeans and cute shoes and all the other things you would expect in a trendy shop - but what I like about the place is that the staff is so helpful - even if you try to lie and say that you are “just looking” - they will somehow point you in the right direction. It’s fun to see what things they carry that you never knew you needed.
Many of Christina’s designs give a playful twist to local favorites. If you are looking for a gift that says “Boston” - and says it with style - check out her T-Shirts; they have images of fifties movie stars casually lounging at local landmarks and are just the thing when a Red Sox shirt simply won’t do. I was struck by the shirt that shows Audrey Hepburn at Fenway Park. Do you think that if she ever went to Fenway Park in her little black dress she would have dined on pretzels and beer like the rest of us?

Roxanna Sarmiento: Roxanna is a freelance writer who loves travel and luxury (but still loves the thrill of finding a bargain!). After growing up in Santo Domingo, studying in Granada (Spain), and working her way up the east coast, she now calls the Boston area home. Some of her favorite travel adventures include crossing the desert by camel in Morocco, dancing Sevillanas at the Feria in Seville, and lounging on the beach at Ipanema. But give her a comfy bed and a good book and she’s happy anywhere – especially at home with her husband and son.
