Boston’s North End

I love Italian food. Not the sauce-drenched spaghetti of Italian-American Restaurants that are big in potion sizes but low on flavor. I’m talking about the real thing. With one bite, you imagine Italy and all the beaches, vineyards, and old villages that go along with it.. Besines, true Italian food simply tastes better.
When you are in the North End, it is possible to forget that you are actually in the U.S, which is why I like it. Besides, you can find some of the best, authentic cuisine in New England. Hanover Street, Prince Street, and the surrounding areas are all filled with restaurants, coffee shops, and places to get gelato and pastry.
I love to walk up and down the streets, looking in the menus, taking in the ambience, and pick one that finally strikes me. In the summer, the streets are packed with people who have the same idea too. I especially enjoy the North End in the winter, especially since the streets are less crowded (and so are the restaurants).
You can find specialty desserts here, too. What better way to finish off the perfect dinner then with a cup of coffee and some pastry. Walk around (this helps make room!) while you try to find the perfect cafe. I like Cafe Paradiso, Cafe Pompeii, and Cafe Vittoria the best. If you are in the mood for a little liquor in your coffee, Cafe Paradiso has some fun combinations.
